I want to add this effect to the edges of the screen of the scenes that have fire in them, especially scene 11. Note: I will be replaying this clip twice in my animation. I made sure to line everything up to the same height and watched out for dynamic lining. I created a new layer above it and used my first pass as reference. My first pass of the sprout wasn’t smooth I didn’t keep in mind the alignment of the arc that the sprout would bend to. I then added inbetweens, so the idea is that the sprout would have more keyframes than the character animation and would play at its own speed. Since I didn’t add it in my rough version, I sketched out a few keyframes to see how the flow would work. I animated the spout on a separate layer. I’ll only be looping this clip twice for my project, so it’s enough to make it look good. And to avoid making it look unnatural, I added an extra frame at the end of the exhale (before it loops back) to give it an irregular feel so everything doesn’t appear repeated even though it is. However, working on TVPint means I can’t work on my own time and I have to rely on whenever the university has bookings available, which stresses me out a bit but hopefully I’ll manage.įor the character animation, rather than animating all the frames, I only animated the frames of him inhaling and duplicated them, placing them backwards for the exhale. It was so much more productive working on TV Paint compared to Procreate due to the layer function. Thankfully brining in an MP4 file wasn’t too overwhelming for the software. Since I initially animated the roughs on procreate and I intend to work on the rest of the process on TVPaint, I had to bring the files over. press F for feather → increase feather, 500 personalshowcaseĪfter I finished compiling the rough animations together, I was finally able to begin lining the animation. right click → new mask → transform → adjust close previous drop downs → select factorial noise layer → press T for opacity → 20% under turbulence drop down → offset turbulence → alt click on keyframe stop watch - type: +timex100,value-timex20] alt click keyframe stopwatch on evolution → change to: timex150 unstick: uniform scaling → can change width (400) and height (250) separately transform drop down → scale → trail up or down to make smoke larger or smaller// set contrast to 75 (experiment with this) select fractal noise → effect → noise and grain → fractal noise This is another effect that I intend to add onto scene 11, possibly in the bottom corners of the screen to add to the atmosphere of the mostly empty scene.Ĭreate an Atmospheric Smoke Effect in Adobe After Effects
